You keep editing, finishing, and certifying in your CAT software the way you do now. TL handles the work around each job and hands you a file your CAT software can import.
You still listen to the whole job, and the reporter certifies the record. TL assists.
TL works with your CAT software. When you export a rough draft on Step 6, TL saves these files in the job's export folder:
Before you export: in Formatting, choose your CAT system. On Step 6, keep RTF selected; it is on by default.
To import: import the RTF/CRE file the way your CAT software imports RTF. If your CAT software imports text files instead, use the .txt file. In Formatting, Plain layout puts each paragraph on one line.
What carries over: the words of the rough, the paragraph labels, and the recording times. The rough has no steno and no audio link.
Tested with Eclipse. Works with any CAT program that imports Word, RTF/CRE or text files. Audio-synced export: coming, starting with Eclipse.
No CAT software? Work in the Word file.
Yes. TL exports RTF/CRE and .txt files your CAT software can import, or a Word file you can work in directly. RTF is selected on every export to start, and you can clear it. CAT software is not required.
Yes. New Job From My Own File keeps your own transcript, CAT file, or recording in TL with dates, notes, and history, and TL never reads what is inside it. Send Files sends it, locked, to your scopist or proofreader, and what comes back is saved as a new dated version. Review steps need a TL rough draft.
Yes. Scopists and proofreaders use the Workspace plan, $19 a month. They install TL, sign in once with their own account, and see only the job copies sent to them. You can invite them from TL, or TL Support can add them.
TL is for Windows in the United States and Canada. Paid plans are open. See pricing. Start free trial, or write to TL Support at support@transcriptlive.com.
