This is version 1.1. It applies to accounts created before October 28, 2026 until November 27, 2026. The current version is here.
The terms for installing and using the TranscriptLive program.
Effective October 26, 2026. This text may be updated. The date changes when it does.
Edition of October 4, 2026. This agreement is between you and TranscriptLive, LLC ("we" or "us"). Please read it before using TranscriptLive. By installing or using TranscriptLive, you accept it. If you use TranscriptLive for a company, you confirm you may accept for that company.
During the beta. While TranscriptLive is in beta, the TranscriptLive Beta License (version 1.0) is the governing beta agreement. TL shows it the first time you sign in, and you accept it by selecting "I have read and accept the TranscriptLive Beta License." and pressing Accept. If this agreement and the Beta License conflict, the Beta License controls during the beta.
1. What this covers. This agreement covers the TranscriptLive desktop program, the program's updates, and the program's guides ("TranscriptLive" or "TL"). The TranscriptLive Terms of Service cover your account, plans, payment, and online processing. If the two conflict on those subjects, the Terms of Service control.
2. Your license. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use TranscriptLive on computers you control, for your own professional work, while your account is active. TranscriptLive is licensed, not sold. We keep all rights we do not expressly give you.
3. What you may not do. You may not:
4. Your recordings and transcripts. You own your recordings, transcripts, and job files ("Your Content"). You give us permission to process Your Content only to do the work you ask for, as the Privacy Policy and the Data Promise describe. We never sell Your Content or use it for anything but your job. You confirm you have the right to record and process each proceeding you use with TranscriptLive.
5. You certify the record. TranscriptLive makes an uncertified rough draft and flags what TL is unsure of. TL can miss words, mistake speakers, or format lines wrongly. You, as the reporter or transcriber, are responsible for reviewing, correcting, and certifying every transcript. TranscriptLive is not a certified transcript and does not replace your judgment.
6. Updates. We may update TranscriptLive to fix problems, improve TranscriptLive, or keep TranscriptLive secure. Some updates are required so everyone stays on a supported version, and TranscriptLive may not process jobs until you install them.
7. Beta and preview features. Features marked beta or preview may change or be removed, and they may be less reliable.
8. Other software. TranscriptLive includes open-source components under their own licenses. Those licenses apply to those components.
9. Your feedback. If you send ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely, without owing you anything. We will never share your name or Your Content with them.
10. Ending this agreement. You may stop using TranscriptLive and uninstall TranscriptLive at any time. During the beta, we can end your beta access at any time; when it ends, stop using TranscriptLive and remove TranscriptLive. We may also suspend or end your license if you break this agreement or your account ends. Uninstalling keeps your job files on your computer. Sections 3, 4, 5, and 9 through 14 continue after this agreement ends.
11. No warranty. TranscriptLive is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including that TranscriptLive will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.
12. Limit of liability. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or transcript errors. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for TranscriptLive in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you paid nothing.
13. Governing law. This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Cobb County, Georgia, will decide any dispute, unless the law where you live gives you a right to another forum.
14. The whole agreement. This agreement, the TranscriptLive Beta License (during the beta), the Terms of Service, and the Privacy Policy are the full agreement about TranscriptLive. If part of it cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. We may update this agreement. We will email you at least 30 days before a change takes effect. TranscriptLive will show you the new version, and you must accept it to keep using TL.
